During a Cabinet session, Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh highlighted King Abdullah II’s continuous efforts since the onset of the “Israeli” aggression against Gaza, hailing His Majesty’s relentless efforts to achieve an immediate and lasting halt to the aggression and ensure comprehensive and sustainable humanitarian aid delivery.

Al-Khasawneh condemned the recent “Israeli” attack on the At-Tawabeen School in Gaza’s Daraj neighborhood, calling it a heinous crime added to “Israel’s” series of violations in the Gaza Strip. He described it as a blatant breach of international law and humanitarian standards.

The Prime Minister emphasized Jordan’s firm stance against any breach of its airspace and vowed to counter any threat to national security and citizens.

Al-Khasawneh urged Jordanians, especially youth, to actively participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections and choose the best candidates from both local and party lists.

He announced that the government has authorized the Special Tender Committee for the National Carrier Project to review the updated proposal from the project consortium, which is progressing positively and reflects investor confidence.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining regular and steady life processes, asserting that a strong Jordan is better equipped to support Palestinians and address Arab issues.

He noted that over 95,000 job opportunities were created last year, compared to around 89,000 in 2022, aligning closely with the annual target of the Economic Modernization Vision to generate one million jobs over ten years.

Al-Khasawneh also highlighted the significance of keeping the national debt service ratio around 20 percent and the ongoing efforts to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio after 2025, as planned.

He reassured that Jordan’s economy is resilient, supported by prudent fiscal and monetary policies, and acknowledged the positive credit ratings from international agencies. Despite regional and international crises, the Jordanian economy continues to grow positively.

The Prime Minister reiterated the need to amend the Civil Service System to allow public sector employees to work outside official hours under specific conditions, ensuring it does not conflict with public interest or employee performance.

Al-Khasawneh opened the Cabinet meeting by condemning the “Israeli” assault on the At-Tawabeen School in Gaza as an addition to “Israel’s” record of crimes against humanity and international law violations. He criticized some “Israeli” political factions for their aggressive behavior and reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to achieving a sustainable ceasefire and delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He also addressed the ongoing tensions between “Israel” and Iran, affirming Jordan’s stance against any airspace breaches and its readiness to protect national security.

Al-Khasawneh emphasized that despite regional challenges, Jordan’s economy is on a steady path, with significant job creation and strong investor confidence, reflecting a positive outlook for economic modernization.
